Block Paving

Block Paving is a lasting product which gives you a great looking driveway which if laid properly will last you a lifetime.

Whether you used the numerous colours of a concrete based block pavior or the very wasting look of a clay pavior or even the top of the range antique block the process of laying your Block Paving Driveway is the same.

Block Paving Drive Regulations

The biggest mistake people make is that they allow the price to determine which contractor they use. Please refer to the ''4 steps of laying a block paved drive'', which is the industry standards.

There are certain important changes which came into effect on 1st October 2008 concerning block paved driveways. The point of interest in the change of the law that will effect whether you will need planning permission are:-
  1. Making sure your driveway is sloped towards a natural soakaway like a garden or flowerbed.
  2. Installing Acko drains to a natural soakaway.

Either of the above will allow the process of laying your block paving drive to be completed without the need of planning permission

Concrete Block Pavior

With a concrete block Pavior there are four main patterns to take into consideration when laying a block paved drive. These are 45% and 90% herring – bone (the most popular block paving drive patterns) and there is basket weave and brick bond. Most drives will then have an outer pattern to conceal as many of the cuts as possible.
